Inducible clindamycin resistance in coagulase negative staphylococci

چکیده

Induced clindamycin resistance poses a major problem for the use of this drug to treat staphylococcal infections. An infectious etiology is often implicated in presence CoNS clinical specimens. A total 183 isolates Staphylococci spp. recovered from different specimens were studied. coagulase test was done select negative Staphylococci, and they confirmed by conventional microbiological techniques. Using double disc approximation test, induced detected (D-test). The D used detect inducible phenotype erythromycin resistant sensitive isolates. micro titer plate determine biofilm development these One hundred twenty eight various identified as proven CoNS, which distributed across six species’. haemolyticus, most common species isolated, isolated all types present study revealed strong association with among CoNs

Use of the D test method to detect inducible clindamycin resistance in coagulase negative staphylococci (CoNS).

According to the National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards (NCCLS, 2004), a method to evaluate the inducible clindamycin resistance in accordance with an approach of the disks of erythromycin and clindamycin--the D test--has been reported. We analyzed the performance of this method in 200 coagulase negative staphylococci (CoNS) strains obtained from blood cultures of hospitalized pat...

Epidemiological and Inducible Resistance in Coagulase Negative Staphylococci

BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVES Coagulase negative staphylococci (CNS) are potential pathogens with the increased use of implants in hospitals. Macrolide, lincosamide and streptogramin B (MLSB) are used in the treatment of staphylococcal infections. The aim of this study was to molecular detection of inducible clindamycin resistance and genetic pattern in CNS isolates and their transmission between hos...

prevalence of clindamycin inducible resistance in staphylococcus aureus and coagulase-negative staphylococci using d-test: a short report

background and objective: the d-test is performed by placing clindamycin and erythromycin impregnated disks at a standard distance on the agar plate then looking for the flattening of inhibition zone around the clindamycin disk. a positive d-test indicates clindamycin inducible resistance and also predicts treatment failure possibility of this antibiotic in clinic. prevalence of staphylococcal ...

determine the inducible resistance phenotype in methicillin resistance staphylococcus aureusand coagulase negative staphylococci

background and objectives: macrolide, lincosamide and streptogramin b (mlsb) antimicrobial agents are widely used in the treatment of staphylococcal infection. clindamycin is the medicine of choice for some staphylococcal infections, particularly skin and soft tissues infections. erythromycin and clindamycin are two distinct classes of antimicrobial agents which inhibit protein synthesis in bac...

Constitutive and Inducible Clindamycin Resistance Frequencies among Staphylococcus sp. Coagulase Negative Isolates in Al-Basrah Governorate, Iraq

Background: Antibiotics called macrolide, lincosamide and streptogramin B (MLSB) are being used to treat staphylococci infections. Multiple pathways that impart resistance to MLSB antibiotics have been confirmed to cause clinical failure. The present work aimed to determine the frequency of constitutive and inducible clindamycin resistant among coagulase-negative staphylococci (CoNS) isolates o...
